The Delhi Gynaecologist Forum is a working body of practising gynaecologists. Its members are the people who order semen analyses, read the reports, and counsel couples on what the numbers mean. They are also, many of them, people who have spent a day at Rajnish Sehgal's bench.
The award recognises what he has spent thirty years doing: taking andrology out of the reference range at the bottom of a report, and putting it back on a microscope where a clinician can see it for themselves.
He continues with the Forum as course faculty and andrology co-coordinator on its Diploma in Male and Female Infertility, now in its 58th batch.
Andrology is barely taught. You cannot order a test you were never shown, and you cannot counsel on a report you have never watched being made.
